Over 5 sessions it will provide an overview of contribution based and non-contributory benefits as well as a foundation knowledge for Universal Credit and legacy benefits. Training Fee applies.

This 3 hour introductory course, delivered via Zoom, is for any staff or volunteers who need to know about Universal Credit in order to support their clients and service users. It will provide a good introduction to the rules of entitlement and the core elements that are payable in specific circumstances. It will also cover how to claim, and where to get further help and advice. Training Fees applies.

This hands-on e-learning training using Zoom is for advisers who have a good knowledge of the welfare benefit system and who have access to the software but have not had the opportunity or time to get to know their way around it. You will need access to a copy of the latest version of QBC during the course. It will help advisers to achieve a better understanding of what the calculator can do in an advice setting. This course looks in detail at the criteria for entitlement to the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP). It is for advisers who have experience with PIP to understand in detail how to help clients achieve the appropriate level of the award of this component. It will provide advisers with a comprehensive understanding of the mobility activities, how the entitlement requirements are met and issues that may arise when helping clients understand entitlement. This course does not discuss PIP daily living descriptors.  SWRU have developed a separate course with a focus on the daily living activities in the context of the PIP2 form. Training Fees applies.

This 90-minute course, delivered via Zoom, is for staff and volunteers who are helping clients with Universal Credit claims, and want to know more about the income rules for Universal Credit entitlement. It will cover all non-earnings income rules. It will equip staff and volunteers with a greater knowledge of the income rules of Universal Credit, resulting in a better understanding of entitlement to the benefit and resolving problems with awards. We have received support from the Community Fund to run this course. Training Fees applies.

This 2½ hour course is for advisers who are familiar with the QBC software for completing benefit calculations and who have a good knowledge of the welfare benefit system but may not completely understand how Tax Credit awards are calculated or how to input client’s financial data. After the course advisers should have a better understanding of Tax Credit entitlement, be more familiar with the Tax Credit screens and options that can be selected within QBC, and also be better able to explain how a client’s award has been calculated. Delegates will need access to the Quick Benefits Calculator software during the training. Training Fees applies.

It will enable experienced welfare benefits advisers to understand the impact of studying and student income on benefit entitlement. Training Fees applies.

It will give you a detailed understanding of what are earnings for Universal Credit purposes and the impact earnings can have on the claimant’s benefit award and claimant commitment.
