This e-learning course using Zoom is for anyone new to or about to undertake casework in an area of social welfare law. It is not restricted to benefits caseworkers. It will provide caseworkers with the range of skills required to deliver client focussed casework that meets AQS quality mark standards. This is a free course for Surrey local Citizens Advice organisations only.

This is course is for any adviser keen to understand how to challenge a Limited Capability for Work (LCW) or Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) decision. It focuses on the process of challenging a LCW decision and covers what should be considered before appealing a decision and the basis of the challenge that is being made. Training fees apply.

This 2 hour course is for staff and volunteers who have a good understanding of the benefits system, and who want an update on recent and future benefit changes. It will update staff and advisers on legislative and guidance changes, and how these changes may affect clients who are supported by delegates and their organisation. Training fees apply.

This is course is for any adviser keen to understand how to ensure that relevant information is provided on a DLA form. It will be of particular interest to advisers who have, or wish to have, a role in helping claimants complete DLA forms. It is designed to enable advisers to understand what is important when using the DLA form to explain how a child meets the criteria for the benefit. Training fees apply.

This course is for any adviser keen to understand how to ensure that relevant information is provided on a PIP2 form. It will be of particular interest to advisers who have, or wish to have, a role in helping with Personal Independence Payment claims. It is designed to enable advisers to understand what is important when using a PIP2 form to explain how a claimant meets the criteria for the benefit and to provide evidence that may be helpful in improving the client’s experience of the medical assessment. This introduction to Limited Capability for Work and Work-related activity (LCW/LCWRA) is for advisers with a general understanding of Universal Credit, and their supervisors who are looking for an overall understanding of how a LCW/LCWRA status affects entitlement to Universal Credit and New-Style Employment and Support Allowance. This course is for advisers who have a good knowledge of the welfare benefit system and who have access to the software but have not had the opportunity or time to get to know their way around it. It will help advisers to achieve a better understanding of what the calculator can do to assist advisers with their work. Training fees apply.
