New Regulations governing the entitlement to means tested benefits for mixed age couples came into force on 15th May 2019. This has led to significant changes to the financial support mixed age couples can access. This course is designed to help advisers assess accurately what entitlements a mixed age couple may have and what changes they can expect when the older partner reaches state pension age. The Transitional Severe Disability Premium (TSPD) amount is designed to reduce the financial impact of a move to UC for claimants eligible for the Severe Disability Premium (SDP) in their legacy means tested benefits. This course is for advisers who advise, or may advise, clients on Universal Credit. The aim of the course is to identify claimants who may be able to claim the TSDP amount, and explain the routes claimants in specific circumstances may need to follow for this to be included in the UC award.
