Who is this course for?

This hands-on training is for advisers who have a good knowledge of the welfare benefit system and who have access to the software but have not had the opportunity or time to get to know their way around it. You will need access to a copy of the latest version of QBC during the course.

Aims

This course will help advisers to achieve a better understanding of what the calculator can do in an advice setting.

Objectives

At the end of this course you will:

  • Understand how to make the most of the software in a structured session.
  • Become familiar with the screens and options that can be selected.
  • Understand how to progress from a simple benefit check through to more complex calculations.
  • Be able to complete and save a better off calculation.

Course Structure

The course consists of 2 training sessions a week apart. The first session of 2 hours will be a demonstration of what you can do and how to do it. Having access to the software during the presentations can be useful, but it is not essential. The software will be needed between the sessions in order for the case studies to be completed by delegates. At the end of the first session the delegates will be emailed some exercises for them to work through, practicing their knowledge and building up their skills before the second session a week later. The second session of 1 hour will review how the delegates got on with the exercises with the opportunity to discuss any questions they have.
