Who is this course for?

This 90-minute course, delivered via Zoom, is for staff and volunteers who are helping clients with Universal Credit claims, and want to know more about the income rules for Universal Credit entitlement.  

It will cover all non-earnings income rules. 

Aims

It will equip staff and volunteers with greater knowledge of the income rules of Universal Credit resulting in a better understanding of entitlement to the benefit and resolving problems with awards.

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will covered topics such as:

  • Whose income is included in a claim
  • Which benefits count as income
  • How pension income is treated 
  • Income from capital
  • Income from trusts 
  • A brief look at student finance

A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
