This 2 hour course is for staff and volunteers who have a good understanding of the benefits system, and who want an update on recent and future benefit changes. It will update staff and advisers on legislative and guidance changes, and how these changes may affect clients who are supported by delegates and their organisation. Training fees apply.

This course is for experienced advisers and supervisors who are looking to understand Universal Credit Managed Migration.
It will provide an understanding of how Managed Migration will affect legacy benefit claimants. It will cover the Managed Migration process, who will be affected, transitional protection and how this can end, as well as discussing how advisers may be able to help claimants issued with a managed migration notice. It will provide a good introduction to the rules of entitlement and the core elements that are payable in specific circumstances. This course is for benefits advisers who have experience of Universal Credit and are looking to understand how to get Universal Credit awards changed. It will give you an understanding of the rules for revision and supersession of Universal Credit decisions. In particular the course will consider how to change a decision where there is a change of circumstances, including whether an extension of time for notifying a change is possible.
