This one day introduction to Universal Credit is for advisers who are looking for an overview of the new benefit. it will provide advisers with a good outline of how Universal Credit is being introduced, who is entitled, the claim process, claimant conditionality and how Universal Credit is calculated. This half day workshop is for advisers who already have experience in using the Quick Benefits calculator. The hands-on workshop will build on the skills of the advisers to increase their knowledge of the software by working though more complex benefit entitlement calculations.
This hands-on half day training is for advisers who have a good knowledge of the welfare benefit system and who have access to the software but have not had the opportunity or time to get to know their way around it.
This course is for generalist advisers and advice session supervisors. You will have attended the Housing Foundation course (HFC), or gained the learning objective for HFC in some other way. The aim is to develop participants’ understanding of private rented sector assured shorthold tenancies and key factors to be aware of.

This course will be useful to advice and non-advice staff within bureaux. Anyone who wants to improve communication with people with challenging behaviour as a result of mental health issues should attend this course.
