This e-learning module is for experienced local Citizens Advice advisers with a thorough understanding of Universal Credit who are advising UC claimants who may be affected by the surplus earnings rule. It will provide advisers with an understanding of the surplus earnings rule with particular focus on understanding the impact payments under the self-employment income support scheme can have on Universal Credit awards.

This e-learning course using Zoom is for experienced local Citizens Advice advisers who sometimes deal with complex benefit queries concerning EEA nationals. You will need a broad understanding of the social security benefit system and preferably have some experience of the EU freedom of movement rules. This course does not look at benefit issues concerning non-EU nationals. It will provide advisers with an understanding of the issues that may be relevant when advising EEA nationals. It will cover the relevance of the EU settlement scheme to continued entitlement to Universal Credit. Training Fee applies.
