Understanding Universal Credit Calculations
Who is this course for?
Staff and volunteers who have a basic understanding of the benefits system.
Aims
This 2.5 hour course is for staff and volunteers who want to gain a better understanding of how Universal Credit payments are calculated in different client circumstances. Exercises and case studies will reinforce the learning for delegates.
Objectives
By the end of the course, delegates will have gained knowledge of:
- Basic Universal Credit allowances
- Carer and Limited Capability for Work elements in Universal Credit
- Rent Support in Universal Credit
- Income and Capital and how this affects the UC award
- How the benefit cap works
A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
