Personal Independence Payment – Mental Health

Who is this course for?

This course is for advisers who already have a good understanding of the PIP activities and descriptors.

Aims

The course will provide advisers with a detailed understanding of the descriptors that are most likely to be relevant to claimants with mental health conditions.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should:

• Understand the descriptors in the context of a mental health condition
• Be able to identify which descriptors are relevant to claimants with Mental Health conditions, including which 4 point descriptors may be relevant
• Be able to identify the problem areas and who is vulnerable to these
• Feel confident they are able to provide information relevant to the criteria when helping a claimant make a claim, challenge a decision including appeals
