Who is this course for?

This course is for staff and volunteers who have a good understanding of welfare benefits, and want to know more about when a claim for Universal Credit should be initiated.

Aims

It will ensure that people get full advice about the pros and cons of naturally migrating onto Universal Credit prior to the Government’s managed migration off legacy benefits

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will have gained greater knowledge of:

  • The difference between natural and managed migration
  • Who might have a choice of when they claim 
  • Practical considerations of claiming UC
  • Financial considerations of claiming UC 
  • Claimant commitment

A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
