Introduction to Universal Credit
Who is this course for?
This 3 hour introductory course, delivered via Zoom, is for any staff or volunteers who need to know about Universal Credit in order to support their clients and service users.
Aims
It will provide a good introduction to the rules of entitlement and the core elements that are payable in specific circumstances. It will also cover how to claim, and where to get further help and advice.
Objectives
Following completion of the training delegates will have an increased understanding of:
- Who might be entitled to Universal Credit
- How to progress a claim for Universal Credit
- How much financial support does Universal Credit provide?
- How Rent Support works in Universal Credit
- How payments may differ if you are a Carer or are unable to work due to illness or disability
A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.

You will be sent a link to join the training 1-2 working days before the date of the course.
On the day you will be able to join the course 15 minutes before the start time and will go into a waiting room until the trainer admits you.
