Extra help for those on low income

Who is this course for?

This session is for any staff or volunteers who advise on welfare benefits and/or support low- income households. The course will cover passporting from benefits, additional help with health costs, transport, child related costs and housing.

Aims

The aim of the course is to raise awareness of extra help available to those on low incomes and where to find that help

Objectives

Following the presentation delegates will be:

  • More aware of extra help available
  • More confident about finding sources of extra help
  • Able to improve take-up of passported benefits and other help available
  • More able to either advise on making claims, or make appropriate referrals for further support

A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
