Who is this course for?

This course is for any staff or volunteers who need to understand what changes the Care Act makes to social care provision. An understanding of community care provision prior to April 2015 is preferable.

 

Aims

To equip delegates with a good foundation understanding of the Care Act, including new legal responsibilities and potential implications for individuals.

 

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will covered the following areas:

  • The purpose of the Act
  • How to understand the terminology contained in the Act
  • Duty to assess
  • Eligibility for services/support
  •  Care planning responsibilities
  •  Overview of new charging rules

Description:

The Education Centre is situated on the left as you come up the hill to the Cathedral.  Access is via the A3 University/Cathedral interchange just south of Guildford.  Parking is free in the car park adjacent to the building.

Guildford train station is within 15 minutes walking distance.
