Who is this course for?

This 3 hour course is for any staff or volunteers who support families and want an introduction to benefits for families.

Aims

It will provide a good introduction to the core entitlements that families may be able to claim in specific circumstances, how to claim, and where to get further help and advice.

Objectives

Following completion of the training delegates will have an increased understanding of:

  • Which families might be entitled to Universal Credit
  • How much financial support does Universal Credit provide
  • Child Benefit and how it interacts with other benefits
  • Help if a child is ill or disabled
  • Help if a parent is ill or disabled
  • Other financial assistance that may be available to support families

A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
